WILD Center - Wild Ones National Headquarters info and directions
Annual EventsConference Toward Harmony with Nature on native plants and natural landscaping - January 25, 2014 - Wild Ones Fox Valley Area holds an annual full-day conference in Oshkosh. Expert guest speakers on a variety of natural landscaping topics are featured in concurrent sessions, along with a keynote speaker, buffet lunch, and exhibits by native plant nurseries, nature centers, booksellers, nature artists, and environmental organizations. Watch for details in November.
Rainbarrel Workshop - April 27, 2013. Held in conjunction with Wild Ones national at their headquarters office located at 2285 Butte des Morts Beach Road in Neenah, Wisconsin. There are two sessions: 9:00AM and 10:30AM. Pre-registration required by April 23, 2013. See flyer for details and registration. Cost is $45 members; $50 non-members and includes all materials for a screen-type rainbarrel and use of equipment.
Native Plant Sale - May 11, 2013 - Wild Ones Fox Valley Area conducts an annual native plant sale which gives area residents opportunity to select high quality plant product for use in their plantings. For more information, contact sale Coordinator. Which plants might work for your own growing conditions? Download Prairie Nursery Catalog for plant ideas. Any not-for-profit organization is eligible for a discount on plants purchased for use in developing outdoor learning centers and nature areas. For further information, please contact the WILD Center, 920-730-3986. Native Plant Sale Order Form Orders are due by April 22, 2013; pick-up is on May 11, 2013 from 9-11:30 at the WILD Center.

WILD Center - We invite, appreciate and need your volunteer help at WILD Center—your hours are credited toward the Chapter’s use of the WILD Center facility as its home base. Remember to record your hours on one of the Time Sheets for Wild Ones Volunteers located in the front entrance or in the tool shed. Examples of hands-on tasks and a WILD Center Wish List are available here. Thank you for making a difference in our communities.
Show Me/Help Me Tours are opportunities for members to walk your property so you can learn what experienced members suggest for native planting improvements in your yard. For information on having your yard included on a tour, contact our Program Chair.
Yard Tours are opportunities for you to walk other members' properties, view their plantings, learn what worked in their yard.
Grants - Established by Wild Ones Fox Valley Area, the Natural Landscapes for Tomorrow fund awards grants ranging from $100-$500 to Chapter area (Map) schools, houses of worship, and other public and not-for-profit organizations who wish to create natural landscapes or outdoor classrooms using native plants. Applications are due February 15. Notification of awards is given in March. Download Instructions and Grants Brochure. To submit your grant application online only, use this pdf document Application. Prairie Landscaping
Annette Weissbach, hydrogeologist with the DNR, has created a butterfly garden and rain garden in a one acre prairie adjacent to a three acre pond. The gardens now provide her with many seeds to give away or to enhance her prairie.

Andy Krueger, a local beekeeper and gardener, will explain the benefits of bees and beekeeping. She will tell us why we need to help bees. Joint program with Winnebago Audubon.
