The Oak Openings Region Chapter of Wild Ones was previously known as the Toledo Chapter of Wild Ones
In the late Fall to Early Spring, our chapter meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Nederhouser Community Hall, Olander Park, 6930 Sylvania Ave., Sylvania, OH. These indoor meetings usually include presentations about the local environment from local experts.
In Early Spring through late Fall, our chapter gathers for various outdoor activities including nature hikes, native garden installations, invasive plant removal work days and more. Date, time and location for each month's gathering are announced in advance via e-mail. If you are not on our e-mail list and want to be, e-mail us and let us know.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportuntity
Olander Park System has graciously provided our Chapter with monthly meeting space, taken care of setting up the room, setting up their projection equipment for our use, and shutting down the room when we were done. They've done this for years, all without charge to us.
In appreciation for this outstanding support, we want to give back. Our president announced that we would attempt to volunteer at least one hour of service annually to Olander for every member in our Chapter. So make room in your calendar today to help thank them for all they do for us and the community.
Volunteer Workdays with The Olander Park System
Every month The Olander Park System (TOPS) holds volunteer conservation workdays. Volunteers (which most months include the Toledo ZooTeens) help us restore wildlife habitat in Sylvania.
TOPS has 3 main natural areas where our volunteer workdays take place: • Sylvan Prairie Park: a 150-acre prairie that TOPS has been restoring since 2009 • Southview Oak Savanna: an Oak Openings Region oak savanna that TOPS has been restoring since 2002 • Herr Road Property: an Oak Openings Region floodplain forest that we’re just starting to work on
Volunteers meet at Olander Park, Maintenance Building, 6930 Sylvania Ave., Sylvania, OH. Volunteers must provide their own transportation to the worksite. Wear long pants, solid shoes and work gloves. All necessary tools provided by TOPS.
Register in advance for each workday at 419-882-8313, extension 29 or at eburi@olanderpark.comMAY WORKDAYS:

Board Meetings
Members are always welcome to attend the Chapter board meetings. The meeting times and locations are published here in the Chapter calendar information. If you are attending, please let our Secretary know several days in advance so we can have an adequate number of board packages available. Also, if you have anything you want to present to the board for consideration, please provide the information to the Secretary at least 10 days prior to the meeting so the agenda can be adjusted to include this. Of course you can contact your board members at anytime regarding ideas, presentations, recommendations, complaints, etc.
