Dear Michigan Botanists,

We are pleased to announce that the next annual meeting of the Michigan Consortium of Botanists (MiCOB) will be at Albion College on Saturday, September 28, 2013.  The theme for this year’s meeting will be “Conservation of Great Lakes Natural Areas,” and we will have several guest speakers presenting their work in this area.

Although you will receive more information about the meeting later this summer, we wanted to give you a heads-up so that you can save the date.  The meeting will include speakers from around the Great Lakes region who will discuss their efforts to conserve our many special and unique natural areas.  If you or your students would be interested in making a 15-minute presentation or presenting a poster, please send an email to Ranessa Cooper (

Cost will be approximately $30 per person for conference attendance and meals (we are still working out the final details, so the cost might change just slightly).

Please mark September 28, 2013 in your calendars and plan to join us at Albion.  Remember, the Michigan Consortium of Botanists is what all of us make it, so we would really like to see as many people there as possible.  Please feel free to extend this invitation to anyone in the Great Lakes region (not just Michigan!) who you think might be interested in attending.
